What’s New

Pursuant to the Directive of the El Dorado County Health Officer issued on March 24, 2020, link: the Health Officer reiterates that neither El Dorado County residents nor nonresidents should be traveling from their usual places of residence for the duration of the Governor’s Executive Order N-33-20 except as expressly permitted as a means to accomplish essential functions. Staying in short term lodging (defined as lodging for a period of less than 30 days) to facilitate recreation, tourism or “sheltering in place” away from your ordinary residence is NOT an essential function, places undue strain on infrastructure and services, and is NOT permitted under the Order.

The County is asking our Vacation Home Rental permittees to comply with the Governor’s Executive Order N-33-20 ordering all individuals to stay at home or at their place of residence, and to discontinue renting to short-term visitors, commencing March 24 – until at least April 23rd (30 days) to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The County is also asking you to be flexible with your current reservation holders and allow them to reschedule or be reimbursed for canceled trips. The COVID-19 public health emergency requires everyone’s cooperation at this critical time in our County.

If you have questions please call Planning Services at 530-621-5355 or via email at
